Although opening and sharing of public data offer major opportunities, this wealth of information could be used with malicious intent. Whether we have to deal with legal challenges related to personal data or with use of open data in cybercrime or conflict contexts (location of critical targets, etc.), these risks exist and must be taken into account by Open Data stakeholders. State of play and future prospects.
